Hair Restoration with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections

Clinical studies have shown that Platelet Rich Plasma injected into the scalp over areas of thinning or receding hair may help improve hair density for patients with androgenic alopecia, a common form of hair loss in men and women.

PRP is obtained by blood draw and processed in-office in a centrifuge to obtain the portion containing growth factor, cytokines, and other blood components that stimulate hair follicles in the scalp.

The exact physiologic mechanism by which this occurs is still under research, but most patients experience peak results in hair regrowth around 90 days after completing 3 monthly treatments.

Maintenance treatments every 3-6 months as well as continuation of topical or oral medications for hair restoration are recommended to help retain the hair that’s regrown.
